Wird, sofern es dazu kommt, also dementsprechend sicherlich die Serien nicht berücksichtigen, sondern eine unmittelbare Fortsetzung des ersten Filmes sein. Die Serien – mit denen Emmerich ja ohnehin nie etwas am Hut hatte – würden somit einen unabhängigen Kanon bilden.
Emmerich wollte die doch schon länger machen, und ich würde sie mir sicherlich auch ansehen
Auch wenns natürlich niemals an die Serien rankommen wird :pHeiße Luft. Stargate war nacht dem ersten Film schon tot und der Stoff ist nun wirklich bis aufs Skelett ausgelutscht.

Ich glaube auch nicht wirklich dran, dass daraus nochmal was wird. Auch wenn ichs schade finde. Würde schon gerne sehen, wie Emmerichs Version der Handlungsfortsetzung aussähe, denn die Serien entwickelten sich ja letztlich doch ziemlich weit weg vom „Urfilm“.
Ich denke das Independence Day-Sequel ist ziemlich realistisch, aber bei Stargate kann ich mir nicht wirklich vorstellen, dass das realisiert werden kann.

Dass die Serien außer Acht gelassen werden sollten, war ja klar…aber jetzt auch Null Bezug zum ersten Film?
Naja, mal schauen…
Emmerich wird Regie führen und es soll eine Trilogie werden. Wann die allerdings kommt ist fraglich, weil erst einmal die neuen ID4-Filme anstehen.

Ich hätte zwar lieber eine neue Serie oder ein paar SG-1 Filme, aber gerne, warum nicht?
Dean Devlin erklärt, warum sie einen Reboot machen und keine Fortsetzung:
“The Stargate thing is a different story. We did the original Stargate as an independent movie. It was a surprise success. Shortly before the movie came out, the financiers who were frightened the movie might not do well sold the film to MGM. When the film came out, it was a hit and spawned TV shows.
Of all the projects I’ve ever done, Stargate is the only one from the beginning intended to be a trilogy. We always wanted to do parts two and three, but the thinking was they didn’t want to do anything other than the TV series. So literally for 20 years I’ve been chasing this project. Twenty years later, we can’t really do part two. We have to start over from the beginning. So let’s reboot the series, put in all the things we couldn’t the first time, and set it up properly.”

Nicolas Wright and James A. Woods are in final talks to pen the screenplay for the Stargate reboot.
“Elements of [Stargate SG-1] will flow into the reboot, definitely,” Emmerich said in a Q&A with readers of Empire magazine, which he is guest-editing this week. “The amount of characters, for instance. It’s not a two-hander like the first one with James Spader and Kurt Russell, this time it’s a bigger group.”

“Yes, there’s still the James Spader character and the Kurt Russell character, but other people are equally important,” Emmerich added. That could mean a reboot that still features Colonel Jack O’Neill and Dr. Daniel Jackson, with new actors filling those roles. Auch wenn seine Erklärung, inwiefern SG1 mit einfließt, das Ganze wiederum relativiert. Also wenn lediglich die Anzahl der Charaktere der Einfluss ist, dann muss man das auch nicht extra erwähnen #ugly#Ja, das dachte ich mir auch #ugly#
