The Peacock network has cancelled Bryan Fuller’s acclaimed, lush thriller, TVLine has confirmed. The show’s current third season — slated to wrap up in late August — will be its last.
“NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers,” Fuller said in a statement. “[NBC president] Jen Salke and her team have been fantastic partners and creatively supportive beyond measure.
“Hannibal is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer,” Fuller added, “but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.”

“My idea for Season 4 was perhaps one of the coolest yet. So I would love to do it in some capacity. It would have explored the Hannibal-Will Graham relationship in a much deeper fashion than the series ever has before.“

If we don’t get another season, it would make a great movie. It’s such a wonderful, contained story that launches out of the Season 3 finale. Once again, it redefines everybody and recontextualizes them in a brand new way, that you haven’t seen in the first three seasons. It feels like it’s an evolution of the story that we’re telling, as well as a radical step in a new direction.

25. Juni 2015 um 22:15 Uhr #496234StampedeMitgliedDie Chance, dass Netflix die Serie retten wird, ist relativ gering. Amazon hat bessere Karten.
Bryan Fuller:
“I know there have been discussions on a couple of fronts with Netflix and Amazon. But I believe our deal with Amazon precludes a Netflix component so I think Netflix, who has expressed interest and has expressed great enthusiasm for the show… I don’t think contractually with our Amazon contract, they can pick up the show.”
„It feels like maybe a 50/50 chance. There’s certain places that can’t do it for various reasons. There’s other places that are interested in doing a fourth season. I’m very curious which way it will go. I honestly have no idea.“
