He suggested that the tale of Philip and Elizabeth Jennings might be wrapped up with a fifth or sixth season, but he also stressed that there was no concrete decision on the span of the series.

FX hat 2 weitere Staffeln mit insgesamt 23 Folgen bestellt und danach ist Schluss.

As The Americans comes close to its Season 4 finale (which will air June 8th), executive producers Joe Weinberg and Joel Fields have worked out a deal with FX to conclude the series in 2018. That means the exceptional show will have an additional 13 episodes in Season 5, and 10 in Season 6 to wrap up its spy story, whose tension continues to grow with each passing hour.
