Martin’s fantasy novels has become the second most watched series in HBO history behind Season 5 of David Chase’s Jersey mob show. With 5.4 million watching Sunday’s Game Of Thrones, the Season 3 finale was up 28% over the 4.2 million who watched the series’ Season 2 finale.

16. Juni 2015 um 20:05 Uhr #496096AnonymGastThe murderous “Mother’s Mercy” episode of Game of Thrones was watched by an average of 8.1 million total viewers on June 14. That ekes out a victory over the previous GoT record holder of the 7.99 million who watched the Season 5 opener on April 12. It also tops last week’s viewership by 13% in what had been a bit of roller coaster viewership cycle for the David Benioff and D.B. Weiss EP’d fantasy drama. Compared to the Season 4 finale, Sunday’s GoT, which saw a slew of characters meet their end, rose 14% to be the most watched finale the show has ever had.
