MTV is developing a TV series based on the „Scream“ film franchise, reports TV Line.
The site says that former MTV executives Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley are looking for a writer to pen the pilot, but says that it is unclear if Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson are involved at all.

Scream, released in 1996, starred Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan and Drew Barrymore and offered a postmodern deconstruction of the slasher film genre. Sequels followed in 1997, 2000 and in 2011, each directed by Craven, who is now said to be in talks to helm the MTV pilot.
