FX’s Sons of Anarchy, with its fourth episode of Season, 5, scored a 2.88 demo rating this Tuesday night, easily beating its broadcast rivals (as well as topping all of cable).
The penultimate season of the Kurt Sutter-created biker drama came to a roaring and even more fatally bloody ending than usual last night with 5.2 million viewers watching. That’s a season-finale record for FX’s Sons Of Anarchy and the third-most-watched episode in the show’s six-cycle history.
With a premiere packed with a brutal prison attack, mourning and misplaced vengeance, the Kurt Sutter-created biker drama drew 6.2 million viewers at 10 PM last night with 4.1 million among adults 18-49, according to Nielsen. Coming in as the most-watched episode and the best demo result in the show’s history, the epic 1 hour and 47 minute beginning of SOA’s last ride was up 5% in total viewership from the 90-minute Season 6 premiere on September 10, 2013.
Despite a leak last week of how it all ends, last night’s series finale of Sons of Anarchy was watched by 6.4 million total viewers with 4.2 million among adults 18-49, according to Nielsen.
The more than 90-minute episode tops the previous SOA all-time high of 6.2 million total viewers and 4.1 million among the key demo of the Season 7 premiere on September 9.
